Baby Roethle Update

I went to the doctor yesterday and she didn't have anything encouraging for me. She said I hadn't changed since last week when she said I was dilated to 1 but my cervix hadn't thinned yet. I was really hoping for some progress! Even though I know things can happen anytime, I fully expect to be going back again next Tuesday. They keep asking if I have had any contractions and I don't think I have. At least if I have they aren't obvious to me. However, I am very uncomfortable. My body just aches all over. The pressure on my bladder makes me miserable at times because I am running to the bathroom all the time and there is nothing but a trickle! I have also been gaining a lot of weight which I don't think you are supposed to do at this point. I don’t eat the best, but I don't think I have changed anything recently. I am hoping it is water weight and I lose a lot of it after the baby comes. I had to go buy a pair of jeans the other day which made me mad. I had outgrown all of my long pants and it is getting cool here! It has been in the 40's in the mornings this week and the highs have been in the 60's. I just couldn't keep wearing Capri pants and sandals. Plus all of my pants, including the Capri's, were getting really tight. When I went to buy the jeans I told the lady what size I wanted and she thought I was crazy. She told me I wasn't that big. So I let her give me some pants that she thought I would fit into and I could barely get them over my legs. I can't imagine how tight they would be after they are washed. So I bought some fat jeans that are really comfortable. I told my co-workers they will be seeing them every day till the baby arrives because I need to get some use out of them!

I do have some good news to share. We finally got our furniture. At least most of it. The rest should be in this week. We have the bed and the dresser set up. It sure makes the room look small! We have another smaller dresser coming and I want some kind of rocking chair in the room. We aren't sure how we are going to make all of that fit. We need to get the rest of it and then play around with it a little. I do have a picture of the dresser and bed. I didn't get the best pictures, but you can see it. I will try to get more when we get everything else.

We also took another picture of me with my baby belly. It was taken on Sunday, the 6th - so I was just past the 38 week mark. I don't know how much more time I have (hopefully not much) so we wanted to get at least one more picture taken for comparison. This was taken almost three weeks after the last picture that I posted. This is also a little blurry, but you get the idea.

I think I mentioned before that I developed a rash all over my feet a few weeks ago. Here is a lovely picture of my foot where you can see all the bumps. I took this when it first started. It doesn't look like this anymore but they still itch. Most days it is manageable, but every now and then it flares up. I also have a lot of itching on my hands and sometimes my arms and legs, but I don't have the bumps like my feet have.

Finally I had to share a picture of Chloe. I am curious to see what the cats think of the new baby. I don't think they will like her much which is probably good because I would prefer they keep their distance. The like hanging out in the nursery though. Chloe lays under the bed all the time and when we had the pack n play set up both cats were always getting in there. We will have to watch them closely when the baby comes home to make sure they don't try to lay on her and crush her or anything!
