Kaelynn's Firsts

Kaelynn had a couple of firsts last weekend. She had formula for the first time. I really didn't want to have to give it to her but she has been eating more then I am making. There are times after she nurses that I can tell she wants more and a few times she has refused to even nurse. She gets the bottle at day care and I think she has really learned to like it. She gets more to eat from a bottle then she can usually get from me. We decided to start giving her a bottle at bedtime to make sure she got a good feeding before bed. It seems to help a little but she is still getting up a lot. I had some frozen breast milk that I had been using but my supply was dwindling so I decided to give her formula. She sucked the bottle down with no hesitation. I don't know if she even knew it was different.

Her other first was being left with a babysitter. Both of her grandmothers have watched her before and she goes to day care, but we had never left her at home with anybody. We were going to look at houses on Sunday and my friend Miranda came over to watch her. I don't think it went quite as planned. Apparently Kaelynn cried for about the first half hour Miranda was here. Miranda tried to feed her and Kaelynn refused to eat. Finally Kaelynn feel asleep and slept till we got home - which was a couple hours later. So I guess she wasn't crazy about having a babysitter!
