I Need Sleep!

Kaelynn's rolling over has been a blessing and a curse. I am so proud of her for accomplishing this achievement but it has wrecked havoc on our schedule. First of all we had to stop using the swaddle blanket. It is a blanket that has Velcro to hold it in place. You wrap the baby up so that they can't move their arms. I think it looks horribly uncomfortable and cruel but we found that she slept great when we used it. Well, I read that when they start rolling over you can't swaddle them because they can end up on their stomach and they can't use their arms. It puts them at risk for suffocating. Kaelynn hasn't been sleeping very good since we stopped using the swaddle blanket. When she wakes up she immediately starts trying to roll over. When she gets to her stomach she cries because she doesn't like being on her stomach. So if she isn't completely asleep when I lay her down she wakes herself up by rolling over. It has made for some long nights! I am hoping she will get used to not being swaddled and also learn to roll to her back so that I can get some sleep again Also when we put Kaelynn on the floor to play you have to sit with her so you can keep rolling her to her back when she gets mad. If you walk away for more then about 10 seconds she will start crying. I used to be able to put her down, give her some toys and go do something like update my blog, but not any more. At least she doesn't move very far yet. Before we know it she will be mobile and we will have to start baby proofing the house. That should be fun!

Here are some other pictures of Kaelynn from the last couple of weeks.

she is adorable! Just wait until she learns she can pull herself up but has no idea how to get down once she is pulled up in her crib...another round of sleeplessness! It is all worth it though.
