4 Months!

Kaelynn is four months old today! I can't believe how big she is getting and how much she is growing. She is really starting to be a lot of fun. She "talks", rolls over, is starting to like to stand if you hold her up, has good control of her hands and has discovered her feet. It seems like she does something new almost every day!

We went to the doctor today for her 4 month well baby check up. She seems to be doing really well. The doctor didn't have any concerns with anything. He said we can start her on solid foods anytime we want in the next two months. We might try some cereal sometime soon and see what she thinks of it. Babies get most of their nutrition from breast milk or formula for their first year. I have heard some people say to wait till 6 months to start solids because they are less likely to develop allergies and they don't need solid foods. So I haven't quite decided when we will start.

We found out Kaelynn's height and weight. She is 25.5 inches tall which puts her in the 90th percentile for her age. She weighs 13 pounds, 2 ounces which is the 40th percentile. So she is a tall, skinny girl! I have been a little concerned that she might not be eating enough (because I might not be producing enough), but the doctor said she is growing and gaining so not to worry. So we will keep doing what we are doing for now. It is hard when you are breastfeeding to know how much she is getting.

Well, that's all for now. I better get some sleep because tomorrow is a work day. I am not looking forward to going out in the cold! I think it is supposed to get above zero so it will be warmer then it was today!

As long as she's wetting and pooping, there is nothing to worry about. She's getting enough. :)

Stay warm today. C is on his 3rd day off of school and Monday is a holiday.
