Kaelynn 2 Years

I worte this post about 6 months ago and never published it because I couldn't find the measurements.  I just came accross them so I thought I would go ahead and post.  Kaelynn will be three in a couple weeks so I will have her 3 year measurements to post soon.   I think she has grown a ton this summer so it will be interesting to see how big she really is...

I never did post Kaelynn's measurements from her 2 year checkup.  I like having them here because this is where I always go to look them up.  I always lose those little slips of paper.  She was 27.25 pounds (50th percentile) and 34.25 inches (75th percentile).

On Kaelynn's birthday (which was Sept 15th - over 6 months ago!) we took her to Chuck E Cheese.  I wasn't sure how much she would like it but she had a blast.  There was a very nice lady at the table behind us that had a birthday cake for her daughter and shared some cake with Kaelynn (I didn't think to bring a cake).  Kaelynn really liked that and then she played games with her mommy and daddy.  She got some cool prizes with the tickets - a two year old thinks everything is cool!!

We had planned a big party for her with all her family about a week after her actual birthday.  However Kaelynn decided to get really, really sick.  After her first day in the two's room at daycare I went to get her and I could tell she wasn't feeling well.  They said she had a horrible day - at first I thought it was just the transition to the new room since she doesn't do well with change.  I got her home and when we got out of the car she threw up all over me.  I brought her in, got both us both cleaned up and took her temp and it was around 101 I think.  So in addition to the change of being in a new room the poor girl was sick and they didn't know it.  It got a lot worse from there.  That night she got diarrhea.  I think that first night we had to give her 3 baths from all the throwing up and pooping.  It was a nightmare.  She was very sick for a solid 10 days.  I ended up sleeping in her room for a week so I could take care of her at night.  During the day she wanted to sit in my lap on the couch all day - except when she was going to the bathroom every half hour or so.  I couldn't even eat because she would freak out if I left her and if I ate around her it would make her sick.  So we were both pretty miserable!  At first I had her in diapers but I think her bottom got so sore she refused to wear them so she insisted on wearing underwear.  She had so many accidents that we probably went through 20 pairs a day.  I had to do laundry every day or we would run out.  That experience makes me certain I never want to use cloth diapers!  So her birthday party had to be canceled.  Instead she got to have about three smaller parties with friends and family so she did OK.  That is probably the sickest she has ever been though and it is something I hope to never experience again!!

Here are a few of her 2 year professional pics...
