Kaelynn was 8 months old on Friday! It is hard to believe how big she is. We celebrated by going to the doctor and finding out she has an ear infection in both ears. She had been sick for a couple weeks. It started as an ear infection on Monday - about two weeks ago. Then we went to the doctor that following Friday because she had been vomiting all week and was wheezing and still had a fever. The doctor said her ears looked good but gave us some medicine to help her breathe. He said all the congestion in her chest was causing the vomiting. So by Wed of last week we thought she was finally getting better. She finished her antibiotic, she hadn't vomited in a couple days, her breathing sounded good and her runny nose seemed better. Unfortunately it only lasted a couple days because on Friday daycare called me to say she had gotten sick and was running a little fever. So we are back on another antibiotic. The poor thing seems to be constantly sick! This hasn't been fun though. It seems like every time she got sick I was holding her so it ended up all over both of us. It is amazing how much can come out of her. We were creating a lot of laundry because we both had to change clothes several times a day!
Kaelynn is also getting very close to crawling. She gets to her knees and rocks and scoots backwards. I think she has figured out how to get herself into a sitting position. I know she has done it several times but I am not positive she knows what she did. She rolls around the room or scoots on her but when she is sitting. So she doesn't move fast but she is definitely becoming mobile. She also pulls herself to her knees. She can stand pretty good if we lean her on something but she doesn't get to a standing position on her own yet. Her favorite noises are grunting or da-da-da-da. Sean thinks she is saying "dad" but I don't think it counts because she has no clue what she is saying.
As far as food she is becoming quite a picky eater. I think she takes after her uncle Alan because she really doesn't seem to like vegetables. I can usually get her to eat carrots. Sometimes she will eat sweet potatoes or squash. If I give her anything green she makes a horrible face and usually proceeds to throw up. Peas seem to be the worst. She had a similar reaction when I tried some turkey. I need to try some other meats but I am scared. I am careful about trying new foods. She loves bananas. Those are her favorite. She also eats apples, peaches, pears, prunes and a lot of other fruit. She didn't like plums the first time we tried them though. So far I have only given her jar food or baby cereal. I decided the other day it was time to try some table food. I decided to start with a banana since it is her favorite. I cut it into tiny pieces and gave her one little piece. She immediately swallowed it and started choking. Then she started vomiting and got sick over and over. I pulled her out of her high chair and started trying to remember my First Aid and CPR training. Luckily it was small enough of a piece that she was still able to breathe (and throw up). It really scared me though and I have decided that we are going to stick with jar food till she is about three!
I don't know if I posted this yet but Kaelynn finally started sleeping through the night in the past month. It is wonderful! However since she has been sick she started getting up again. I think it is because she is really hungry since she had been throwing up all her food. So I had to get up during the night quite a bit over the past couple of weeks. Hopefully things will return to normal soon (if there is any such thing). The next thing that will probably keep her awake at night is teething. She still doesn't' have any but I think it could be soon.
That's all for now. I haven't posted in a while and have a lot to catch up on so hopefully I can do that this week. I have also been slacking on taking pictures since she has been sick. We also left our camera at Sean's sisters on Mothers Day so we have been without it the last week. So no pictures for now. Hopefully we get the camera back soon!

So sorry to hear about the ear infections. I had them really bad when I was a baby and eventually had 6 sets of ear tubes by the age of 8. Hopefully she doesn't have to go down that route.
"I have decided that we are going to stick with jar food till she is about three!"
I got tease a lot, but I cut everying into tiny pieces until both of mine where probably THREE! Chocking is SCARY!
Sorry about all the sickness. As the weather warms up, hopefully the viruses will die. We've had our share this winter/spring, too.
We'd love a move update, we say a pod in the drive last week when we were our rummaging.
Oh gosh... that chocking scare would have scared me to pieces. You seem to have handled it really well! Can't wait to see your new house!
