Kaelynn got her first cold this past weekend and it hasn't been a fun experience! She had a cough, runny nose and a fever on Sunday. The fever is gone today but she still has a cough and a lot of congestion. It is such a helpless feeling seeing your child sick. There isn't much we can do as parents other then try to make her comfortable. On Sunday she would just lay there and barely move. She had no interest in playing with toys, talking or even smiling. Luckily she was still eating well. She started getting bad on Saturday night and kept me up most of the night. I think she couldn't sleep laying down because she couldn't breathe. We tried to keep her propped up on Sunday and she did get some good naps. Even though her fever was gone we took her to the doctor today and he thought she looked and sounded OK - it is just a cold that will run its course. They weighed her and she is 12 pounds, 7 ounces. I thought she would weigh a little more by now but the doctor said she was OK. She gained a lot early and has really slowed down. She is still gaining at an acceptable rate though.
In other news, we have been down to one car for a few days. Sean probably doesn't want this in the blog, but he had a little run in with a mail box last week. It shattered our rear window and dented the door. It is going to cost about $1400 to repair so we had to file an insurance claim. So we are only out $500 - ouch. Not a good time of year for those unexpected expenses! We are hoping to have the car back soon because we have a lot of traveling to do over Christmas.
Here are some pictures from two weeks ago. I have been a little behind on uploading pictures. I guess it is all the shopping, wrapping and baking that I have had to do for Christmas as well as working a couple days a week.

Not sure if you have a warm mist humidifier or not, but when Lucas got sick as a baby that is what we ran near where he slept. The warm air opened the air passage and let him sleep better. If not try putting her in the bathroom with you when you take a hot shower right before she goes to bed....the steam helps also! I know all to well about sickness and babies.

Also, strap her in the carseat in her crib. It'll keep her upright.
I don't have any tips for you but I hope she feels better. I also wanted to comment that the last photo is so adorable!!! I love that cute little smile she has! :)
