Kaelynn Update

Kaelynn is going to be five weeks old tomorrow. It is amazing to see how much she is growing and learning. She is starting to be a little more interactive. I have gotten a few smiles out of her, but they are very brief. Everything it going really well. She is getting a lot better at nights. She has started sleeping about 4 hours every night. Of course after that she gets up every two hours the rest of the night. That means I am getting up usually three times a night which is a lot better then five or six which is what I was doing before. I have even had to wake her up a couple of times to eat because she is sleeping so well. They told us for babies that are breastfeeding they shouldn't go more then four hours. I am not sure when I can start letting her sleep longer.

We have the most trouble with her in the evenings. She tends to be pretty fussy and wants to eat all night. I started trying to pump breast milk when I can this week so we were able to give Kaelynn a bottle. She was confused at first but once she realized there was food in there she was happy! This is good for me because that means I will be able to get away occasionally and let Sean or somebody else watch the baby!

Kaelynn is really growing. I tried to weigh her last week and she was about 10 pounds (I did this by holding her on our scale at home). Sean's mom got us an outfit for her to wear home from the hospital. It was 0 to 3 month size. We put it on her at the hospital and it was huge. The shirt looked like a dress and the pants were falling off. We ended up putting her in something smaller. Today we put Kaelynn in that same outfit and it barely fits! Here is a picture from the hospital and one from today.
