Baby Roethle Update

I am only five weeks from my due date today! I am getting really excited! It still seems a long way though. Sleeping is becoming more and more of a problem. I just have the hardest time getting to sleep. I think it is because I just can't get comfortable. Then even after I get to sleep I have to get up all night to go to the bathroom. Lucky for me though once I get to sleep I can usually go back to sleep pretty quickly. My alarm goes off way too early though. I am thinking about changing my work schedule so I can come in a little later because I am struggling at work most days.

Last weekend I had another baby shower. Thanks to Miranda for all of her work organizing it! I had a great time! The shower was actually at my house so I got to show off the nursery. We did get the border up and valance over the window so the room is as done as we can make it right now. Here is a picture - Sean's mom is making us a cushion for the window seat that will match the darker pink that is in the valance.

We still don't have any furniture. I was hoping it would come in early and be there for the shower, but that didn't happen. It could still be several weeks. I am trying to patient. This shower had a book theme so I got lots of baby books. I read all of them on Saturday night which was fun. They are so cute. I am excited to get books because we only had a couple. We also got the bouncer and swing that we wanted which we set up in the living room for now. I can't wait to have a baby at home to try them out!

I also got some creative gifts. My friend Kari has taken up sewing and made me some burp cloths that are really cute. Miranda also made a quilt which is awesome. I have some very talented friends! We got lots of great stuff! Here is a picture of the quilt Miranda made.

We have been truly blessed. Between the hand me downs that we have gotten from friends and family and all the gifts we have received, we really are set for the baby. There are so few things that we still need. Here is another picture of the nursery where you can see a temporary table we have everything piled on for now.

We have had a lot of people ask if we have a name. We are getting close, but we don't plan to decide for sure till the baby arrives. I want to go to the hospital with a couple that we both like and then when we see her we will decide what name suits her best. So there is no name to report except her nick name: Randi Rae or Rae-Rae. For those that don't know that started as a joke and it has stuck. We are pretty sure we will avoid all R names because they just don't work with Roethle very well. But for now, people want something to call her and Rae-Rae is what they are using.

Here is one last picture of a quilt I got form my god-mother at my last shower. It really matches the room really well! That is one of our cats, Chloe, checking everything out. We have tried to tell the cats about the baby, but I just don't think they understand. They just think they have a bunch of new toys to play with!
