It has been a little while since I posted so I thought it was time for an update. Two weekends ago Sean went to St Louis for a bachelor party with for his friend John. John is getting married on July 5th in Arkansas. I didn't ask for too many details, but I think a good time was had by all. I stayed home and on Friday night I volunteered at the Kids Fun Run. It is for kids ages up to age 12 and it is held every Friday night throughout the summer. The kids show up and run a lap around the track and get ribbons. The kids really seemed to have a great time and the little ones were just adorable. The 2 and under group doesn’t actually do a complete lap and they get a lot of help from their parents. I hope to get out there more throughout the summer. Of course, I don't handle hot weather so well so we will have to see how that goes.
I then got up really, really early on Saturday morning to volunteer at the Tri-Shark triathlon. This was a race I had signed up to do in January before finding out that I was pregnant. I have done it a couple times before and it seems like it always falls on a gorgeous day. Well, not this year. We had lots of rain and storms all morning. The race got pushed back a couple times and eventually they cancelled the swim and turned it into a duathlon. Luckily for me, I was working in the registration tent so I didn't get wet. It was very hot and humid though (even at 6 in the morning) and the ground slowly turned into mud as the morning went on. We were quite messy before it was all over with. I had a good time though and would like to do more volunteering at races if I can this summer. It will hopefully get me motivated to get back in shape after the baby comes!!
This past weekend we were off to Peoria Tim and Mollie's wedding. Tim is a good friend of Sean's from high school. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. I will try to post some pictures from the wedding soon. Sean was the best man so he got to give a speech at the reception. He was pretty nervous about it, but he did a great job. Sean's biggest complaint about the wedding was that he had to wear a pink vest and tie. He is not a fan of wearing pink to say the least. So he decided that one of the gifts we should get Tim and Molly was some pink sheets. Sean thought that was good pay back for Tim. I thought the guys looked good in pink so they didn't need to worry!
To give an update on Baby Roethle, there hasn't been much happening lately. She is definitely getting bigger and stronger. I feel her kicks a lot more. However, she is still shy around Sean. As soon as he puts his hand on my stomach she seems to stop moving. Hopefully someday soon she will give him a good kick! We started our childbirth classes this week. We go once a week for four weeks. The first class was pretty good. This Friday we get to have another ultrasound. It is always exciting to get to take a peak at the baby!
Well, that's all for now. I will try to get some pictures posted soon!
